Carnival is annual event that is celebrated passionately in many places throughout the world. That includes Brunssum in the Netherlands where the Brikke Oave venue was so enthusiastic that it hosted the sold-out Carnavalradio Limburgse Aovendj event 2 weeks before traditional carnival. To ensure the right atmosphere, Heijnens Audio-Light-Vision enlisted Matrix Event Support to design the lighting and visuals, as well as take care of the programming and operation.
Fenno Franzen from Matrix Event Support took on the roles of designer, programmer, operator and VJ for the event. To illuminate the performers in bright, soft fields of coloured light he used 36 Showtec Spectral M800 Q4 Tour LED spotlights with their dim and strobe functionality offering additional effects. Four Showtec Stage Blinder 4 DMX lights added bright accents whenever the performances reached a crescendo. For fast, accurate colour mixing with additional effects including an animation wheel, Digital Motion and 13 gobos, 8 Infinity S401 Spots were added to the setup. The Infinity Chimp Tourpack offered optimal control over the light fixtures with the Infinity Peanut Box expanding the possibilities by adding 4 additional universes.
From the images, it is clear to see that the atmosphere was greatly enhanced by the light show put together and operated by Fenno Franzen and no doubt the performers as well as the audience were equally impressed.
